A Jewish believer who grew up in NYC, Nikki came to know the Lord in her teen years. Ministries she has worked with include: Wycliffe Bible Translators (writer / producer), Jews for Jesus, (staff), Open Door Church of San Francisco (Director of outreach & discipleship), Chosen People Ministries (staff), and pioneering the messianic fellowship that became congregation T'ferrit Israel. Sensing that the Lord wanted Nikki to use her creative gifts to minister in the Arts, she began City Light Performing Arts Company in San Francisco and was the artistic director for five years. This was a ministry that engaged people from over 100 Bay Area congregations in presenting God's truth through theatre and music in theatres around San Francisco. In the entertainment community, Nikki has worked in the mediums of theatre, video and film. In addition to shorts and music videos, she has directed and/or produced 60+ plays and musicals. musicals including Twelfth Night, Seven Days, Guys & Dolls, The Pirates of Penzance, The Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Absurd Person Singular, Inspecting Carol, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as original material. Her shows are critically acclaimed garnering reviewer’s “Recommended”, GO’s and critic’s picks. Theatres she has worked with include South Coast rep, Berkely Rep, VITA Shakespeare, Theatre Geo, Moving Arts, the Eureka Theatre, The Mark Taper Forum (New Works Festival) and the National Theatre of Uganda, where she wrote and directed a one-man musical. Actor's Nikki has worked with include, Wendie Mallick, Ed Asner, Jennifer Tilly & Jason Alexander While being mentored in directing for sit-coms, Nikki has been an ‘observing director’ on numerous prime-time television shows including, 8 Simple Rules, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, Suddenly Susan Malcolm in the Middle, and many others. In the non-fiction genre, Bridge of Promise, a recent DVD Nikki produced and directed for Holt on International Asian orphans/adoptions, just won a Silver TELLY award for directing. The documentary on interfaith marriages she Produced/Directed, 'Joined Together?' won several awards and recently aired on PAX -TV and has won 3 Aurora awards. Many inter-faith couples have heard the gospel and come to the Lord through the outreach of this video. In addition to speaking regularly in churches on spiritually themed topics and Jewish perspectives of Christianity, Nikki has taught directing, acting and sit com production both privately and as adjunct faculty at several colleges and universities, including Pepperdine, LA Valley College, Azusa Pacific, and others. Nikki is an alum of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab (W) and a Harvey Fellow. Nikki now lives in the Los Angeles area where she has been working as a freelance director / producer, teacher and minister in the entertainment industry where she has great opportunities to share the Messiah's love with many people. She holds a degree in Theology and Biblical Literature from Simpson College and a Master of Fine Arts in Directing for theatre, film and television from the University of Southern California. |
